Call for Proposals: STATE CEC Annual Conference

The STATE CEC Annual Conference invites special educators, general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, families and educational leaders to submit proposals for engaging and innovative sessions at our 2026 Annual Conference. This year’s theme focuses on advancing inclusive practices, strengthening collaboration, and improving outcomes for all learners. 

About the Conference 

Our annual conference brings together professionals and families dedicated to ensuring that every student—especially those with disabilities and diverse learning needs—receives high-quality, equitable education. Participants will gain practical tools, research-based strategies, and inspiration to strengthen their work in classrooms, schools, and districts. 

Selection Criteria 

Proposals will be reviewed based on: 

  • Relevance to the conference theme and audience
  • Practical application and innovation
  • Clarity and organization of session content
  • Evidence-based or research-informed practices 

What We Are Looking For 

Each session will be 50 minutes, running concurrently. Topics we are looking for: 

  • Behavior Management
  • New Special Education Teacher Survival
  • Artificial Intelligence and Assistive Technology in Special Education
  • High Leverage Practices
  • IEPs and Progress Monitoring
  • Specially Designed Instruction
  • Supporting Families and Students Through Transition
  • K-12 Literacy
  • K-12 Math Competency
  • Others may be considered 

Submission Guidelines 

To be considered as a speaker, please be prepared to submit the following via our online portal: 

  • Brief biography highlighting your relevant experience
  • Presenter bios and contact information for all presenters
  • Brief summary of your proposed presentation
  • Any supporting materials (e.g., previous speaking engagements, publications)
  • Session title and description (150–250 words)
  • Learning objectives and key takeaways
  • Target audience (e.g., teachers, administrators, related service providers) 

Important Dates 

Proposal Submission Deadline: December 15, 202X 

Notification of Acceptance: February 1, 202X 

Conference Date(s): April 1, 202X 

Note: Presenters will need to pay a discounted presenter registration fee.
